TO FIND A REPLACEMENT FOR A SPECIALIST WHO DIDN’T GET MAKE IT THROUGH THE TRIAL PERIOD
We don’t like the phrase "Ideal candidate", because unfortunately, there’s no such thing. Our recruiters do their best to find the most suitable specialist based on their motivation, hard and soft skills, personal features, and so on. But yes, sometimes it just doesn’t work out.
Our client asked us to find a JS developer. It is quite a common position that we know our way around onions with. Recruiters quickly found a developer, introduced him to the client and called it a day.
But the candidate didn’t make it through the trial period. In a case like this, we offer our client a replacement or fill a similar position. The project was on its way, and they needed a front-end specialist. We had to find a replacement and do it ASAP.
GET DOWN TO BUSINESS AND FIND A BRIGHT YOUNG MIND
The recruiter hit the ground running. We had to fix the hole in the team, taking previous experience into account.
The client has a complicated profile: they do biology, chemistry, physics, maths. On one hand, it’s an advantage: it’s easier to find a person wanting to do an interesting project like that. On the other hand, a clear disadvantage — this field required some specific skills or experience.
A recruiter found a specialist who met all the required criteria: fluent English, nice portfolio, senior frontend developer experience in an international company that specialized in software for visualization and marketing analysis. There was only one thing bothering everyone — he was 19 at the moment.
The candidate started working in development when he was 16 and managed to gather enough experience to immerse himself in the new field. Account managers in our own agency had their doubts at first, after all, the client was a huge established company. Is it okay to introduce such a young person? Was he really that experienced for the position?
The recruiter insisted on introducing the candidate to the company. And the bet paid off.
REPLACEMENT WITH NO LOSS IN QUALITY OR MONEY
Our 19 years old candidate was accepted immediately. He did a great job with the test task, and within a month he became a part of the team. A bright young mind made an awesome addition to the company, and the project bloomed.
We managed to find a replacement fast and successfully, offering the client an alternative without any financial burden.
