Hiring rates went down rapidly, and it was impossible to finish the processing as we planned. Like it wasn’t enough already, the offers from other companies kept coming in. How do we keep the candidate until the processing is over?

The client was positive they didn’t want to lose this candidate. Inside the client’s company, there are lots of various product teams, and at first, this candidate was to be hired in a particular team. But once this project froze even the current hiring, we tried to fix the candidate up with other teams.
Transferring between teams is not that big of a deal but even so, it takes time. And by that time, our candidate already had five other offers. One of them was, ironically, from an antivirus company, and that was the one the candidate was going for.
But our recruiter knows the peculiarities of the hiring process in the said company: there was a buffer week between the oral agreement and the officially accepted offer. So our recruiter busted in during this week and shuffled the candidate’s cards. The recruiter reminded him about the brand of our client, the possible prospects and growth opportunities, as well as about the candidate's initial wish to work for this company.
