TO FIND THE HEAD OF MARKETING AND RELOCATE HIM TO KAZAKHSTAN
A media holding in Kazakhstan was creating its own video hosting platform. The company came to us with an interesting task: to find a Head of Marketing for its head office in Kazakhstan.
For this position, we needed a person who knew how to handle big budgets and global campaigns: experienced, skilled, and ready to move to Kazakhstan. Quite a mix.
WEATHER REPORTS TO THE RESCUE
Our recruiter went out there to search for the candidate. First of all, he highlighted the companies similar to our client’s by the field, size and potential marketing scale.
We found our candidate quite quickly: in two months, we presented a suitable professional who knew how to work with a huge budget and was not afraid of the responsibility. The only problem was, he didn’t want to move to Kazakhstan. At all. His core argument against it was the climate.
Well, coincidences don’t appear out of the blue. The recruiter who found this person was from Kazakhstan himself, so it was only a matter of time when his eloquence would persuade the candidate. The recruiter gladly went the extra mile and found weather reports for the past several years and created a small presentation for the candidate.
RELOCATION AND A CLOSED POSITION IN TWO MONTHS
The presentation ‘Kazakhstan weather in retrospect’ hit the mark: the candidate was persuaded to move. The location might not be perfect, but the extreme cold was nothing but a myth. The specialist agreed to relocate, and shortly the company got its skilled and experienced Head of Marketing.
