Задача
TO FIND A PYTHON + RUST DEVELOPER

Our client is famous for its solutions for digital security. We had to find a Python developer that would also be skilful in Rust. Rust is a relatively new language compared to C++, for example, yet is no simpler than said one. However, it turned out it wasn’t the search that was the hard task.

Решение
SEARCHING THROUGH THE FIELDS AND PROVING PROSPECTS TO BE GOOD

Our recruiters thought logically. If I was a Python and Rust developer, where would I be? The two fields where the combination of both languages is the most common among the specialists were cybersecurity and blockchain. A suitable candidate appeared to be involved in blockchain. Every piece of information fitted the profile for the role: the experience, the expertise and the projects.

But the candidate's company came up with a counteroffer that had more money than our client’s offer. How do we make a person accept an offer with a smaller wage? We had to find bright sides.

Usually, money plays a big role in decision making but is not the only factor. Our recruiter pointed out a very important aspect of the new role, namely the prospects, because let’s face it: cybersecurity is a prosperous and worthwhile field, and a talented specialist needs opportunities to grow professionally.

Plus, at that point, cryptocurrencies market was a low point. It was a powerful point from our side: why would a talented and demanded specialist stay on the ship that was clearly going south? The prospects at the old job were too shaky to build up any hopes.

Результаты
NO TO THE COUNTEROFFER, YES TO THE NEW SPECIALIST FOR THE CLIENT

Lower in wage but wider in opportunities: the client’s offer was some sort of a long-term investment, and our recruiter simply highlighted it. The client got its specialist, and the counteroffer of the other company was gladly put aside.
