TO OPTIMIZE THE INTERNAL HIRING PROCESS
Our client is a British fintech company. Their head office is in London, and so is the main product team. The company decided to single out the product recruitment. They had to optimize and tune the hiring process and recruit several hires, such as a product designer.
The team invited one of the secondees to join the team. Avarn’s secondees are recruiters who work in other companies and have access to all the instruments and databases of the agency.
EXPERIMENT, OBSERVATION, CONTACT
Our secondee worked in our London-based client’s team remotely from Tbilisi. Despite the remote work and all the communications being in English, our secondee immediately jumped into the vacancies workflow and the fine-tuning of the selection process.
To find a product designer at such a level one had to work with the European and American markets. There were lots of specialists, however, the time for closing one position is limited. Very sharp search criteria were the first thing to negotiate.
Being constantly in touch with the London product team, our secondee gathered an exact portrait of the required specialist. This helped to sift all the candidates through a smaller selection sieve. At the same time, we analyzed the process to find out how many people refused before the final offer, which processing stages were the most problematic, and whether one could find out the candidate is irrelevant sooner.
AN IMPROVED SELECTION SYSTEM AND SKILLED PRODUCT DESIGNER
Analytical approach, understanding of candidates’ motivation and psychology, and vast experience helped our secondee to improve the processing system inside the company. He managed to accelerate the whole process and identify irrelevant candidates sooner by slightly changing the workflow.
Using his new method, the implant found a talented product designer for the team in less than a month.
